The City of North Miami’s Housing & Social Services Department will host the FY 2021-2022 Single-Family Rehabilitation Program Lottery

North Miami, FL – November 17, 2021

The City of North Miami’s Housing and Social Services Department (HSS) will host a virtual lottery drawing on Friday, November 19, 2021 starting at 10:00 a.m. for 56 qualified North Miami households.

Out of 61 residents who submitted applications for the Single-Family Rehabilitation Program, 56 were qualified to enter the drawing. During the lottery drawing, 20 applicants will be selected at random to receive home rehabilitation services such as: roof repairs, installation of hurricane impact windows and doors, garage door installation, electrical and plumbing upgrades, sliding glass door replacement, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), replacement of deteriorated fascia, soffits, gutters, exterior painting and any other approved improvements. These repairs will create a viable urban community by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment and expanding opportunities, in particular, for very low, low and moderate-income persons/families.

The lottery will enable 20 qualified North Miami households to receive home rehabilitation services of up to $50,000 in the form of a forgivable grant funded through Federal and State programs. Applicants applied for this program from October 1 - 29, 2021. HSS staff reviewed the applications and qualified the residents based on the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s income guidelines.

To watch the virtual lottery, tune in to NoMi TV (Comcast Channel 77 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99) or visit Livestream.com/CityOfNorthMiami. For more information about all current programs, email housing@northmiamifl.gov or call the Housing & Social Services Department at 305-893-6511 ext. 20000.
