12 North Miami Residents to Receive Home Rehabilitation Grants of up to $50,000

North Miami, FL – December 20, 2019 – The City of North Miami, Housing and Social Services (“HSS”) Department held its annual lottery drawing for its Housing Rehabilitation Program (“Program”) on Tuesday, December 17, at 6:00 p.m.  The City’s Program, funded through federal and state funding, is designed to assist North Miami homeowners who may not have adequate financial resources to make necessary home repairs.

HSS staff screens applicant qualifications based on the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development’s guidelines. In total, sixty (60) households submitted their applications and fifty-five (55) applicants were qualified to enter the drawing. Twelve (12) applicants were randomly selected to receive home rehabilitation services such as roof repairs, installation of hurricane impact windows and doors, garage door installation, electrical and plumbing upgrades, sliding glass door repairs, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), replacement of deteriorated fascia soffits and gutters as well as exterior painting. The selected households will receive home rehabilitation funds of up to Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00).
