On Tuesday, May 12, 2020, the North Miami Mayor and City Council authorized the appropriation of $250,000, to the North Miami Low Income Home Utility Bills Assistance Foundation, Inc. in order to help coronavirus (COVID-19) affected residential customers pay their City utility bills.
The water bill assistance application is available online. Beginning Monday, May 18, 2020, printed applications will also be available for residents experiencing hardships due to the coronavirus pandemic. The program will provide North Miami residential customers with a one-time $50 credit to the water portion of their utility bill.
North Miami residents may pick up a printed copy of the application and drop off their completed application Monday-Thursday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the following locations:
- Housing & Social Services Satellite Office 13753 NW 7 Avenue, North Miami, FL 33168 (Completed Applications can be mailed to this address)
- North Miami Customer Service Center 811 NE 125 Street, North Miami, FL 33161
Funding will be available on a first come, first served basis. A letter or e-mail will be sent to residents’ information on file if their application is approved or denied. The City established the NoMi Water Bill Assistance Program in November 2017, to assist qualifying City residents, based on need, with their city of North Miami water utility bill.
To administer the program, the City created the North Miami Low Income Home Utility Bills Assistance Foundation, Inc. Funding will be allocated to the foundation and customers will be evaluated for funding eligibility by the North Miami Housing and Social Services Department.
