The City of North Miami announces its annual Back to School Giveaway on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, from 3-7 p.m., at the Joe Celestin Center, 1525 NW 135th Street, North Miami, FL 33167. This event is designed to support North Miami students and families as they prepare for the upcoming school year.
This event aims to bring the community together to celebrate and support local students as they embark on a new academic year by providing children with FREE backpacks, supplies and community resources. Guests will also enjoy an afternoon of kid-friendly activities, FREE food and live musical performances by the School of Rock North Miami. DJ Lucky C will serve as this year’s co-host alongside Ashley Gaitan. The day will be filled with fun, resources and opportunities to connect with fellow residents and local organizations.
Members of the community are also invited to support this initiative by donating essential school supplies. Items needed include, but are not limited to backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers, binders, and other basic school supplies. Cash and Checks are also accepted. Checks should be made payable to the City of North Miami. School supplies drop-off sites include:
