The City of North Miami is proud to announce that North Miami Mayor Alix Desulme, Ed. D., has been appointed as a member of the esteemed Global Parliament of Mayors. This appointment was made after an extensive vetting process of Mayors from across the globe with only two Mayors being selected from the United States. Mayor Desulme has graciously accepted this prestigious appointment and is eager to represent North Miami on the international stage.
The Global Parliament of Mayors (GPM) is a unique platform that brings together mayors and city leaders from around the world to address global challenges and foster cooperation between cities. As a member of the GPM, Mayor Desulme will have the opportunity to engage with fellow mayors and contribute to the global dialogue on critical issues such as climate change, public health, urban development, and social equality.
Mayor Desulme expressed his excitement about this appointment, stating, "It is an honor to represent North Miami on the global stage and collaborate with mayors from diverse cities to find innovative solutions to the challenges our world faces. As your mayor, I am proud to be able to help shine the global spotlight on the good things we are doing in North Miami. Now, Mayors from all over the world will have the opportunity to learn about our best practices and “residents first” policies. My appointment and membership in this organization keeps the international spotlight on North Miami and the great things our city is doing in infrastructure, development, and programs that benefit all North Miami residents."
