The City of North Miami is proud to announce that it has been honored with the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The award for Excellence in Financial Reporting is for the Fiscal Year ending on September 30, 2022.
This award comes after a panel’s judgement of the City’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the 2022 fiscal year, that clearly communicated the City’s financial story. Each year, the City of North Miami’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report is prepared by the City’s Finance Department. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
This esteemed recognition is a testament to the City of North Miami’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability and fiscal responsibility in its financial reporting practices. Recipients of the Certificate of Achievement are governmental entities that have demonstrated a high financial reporting standard per the GFOA's comprehensive guidelines.

The GFOA's Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting program has recognized outstanding financial reporting for more than four decades. By participating in this program, municipalities across the nation demonstrate their commitment to transparency and provide citizens, investors and stakeholders with reliable financial information.
