NoMi Beyond the Comp Plan

Updating the LDRs

The City of North Miami adopted the Future City: NoMi Beyond the Centennial comprehensive plan in 2024.
A key recommendation of the Plan’s Action Agenda was to align the Land Development Regulations (LDRs) with the updated comprehensive plan.

The LDRs guide development to support the comprehensive plan's long-term vision of a fair, safe, prosperous, beautiful, and resilient community. CGA, the consultant who helped prepare the comprehensive plan, is now working with the City on updating LDRs.

CGA is in the early stages of engaging stakeholders in discussions about current challenges and opportunities for enhancing the code.

While not everyone uses the LDRs daily, everyone –residents, business owners, institutions, designers, builders– is affected by zoning to some extent.

From permitted uses by zoning district, to development and design standards, to review and approval procedures, think about…

  • What works?
  • What could be improved?
  • Are there regulations that need to be clearer?
  • What about processes could be streamlined?
  • What would you change?

We look forward to everyone’s participation.
