City of North Miami Mayor Alix Desulme, Ed.D., will present the State of the City Address at the 2024 Induction Ceremony. This event will take place Monday, Dec. 16, at 6 p.m., at the Florida International University, Roz and Cal Kovens Conference Center, 3000 NE 151st Street, North Miami, FL 33181.
The ceremony will also recognize the elected officials who will serve alongside Mayor Desulme, including Councilman Kevin A. Burns, District 1, Councilman Pierre Frantz Charles, M.Ed., District 4, and Elected City Clerk Vanessa Joseph, Esq. Mayor Desulme will also be inducted and use this opportunity to reflect on North Miami’s achievements, share his vision for the future, and reaffirm his personal commitment to the City. During his address, he will celebrate the significant progress the City has made, including essential infrastructure improvements such as water treatment upgrades and flood mitigation projects. He will also highlight initiatives that have transformed North Miami into a thriving hub for small businesses and entrepreneurs.
The mayor will emphasize the City’s dedication to its residents by addressing priorities like affordable housing, expanding educational opportunities for youth through scholarships, and providing families with the resources they need to succeed. He will also spotlight efforts to combat climate change, including tree-planting campaigns, the creation of green spaces, and the adoption of energy-efficient solutions to ensure a sustainable and resilient future for North Miami.
Looking ahead, Mayor Desulme will outline his vision for an inclusive and prosperous City, focused on measurable progress, accountability, and collaboration with the community to achieve shared goals. He will also reaffirm his deep commitment to North Miami by pledging to lead with integrity, listen to residents, and make decisions that prioritize the people who make the city extraordinary.
