The City of North Miami’s Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) Program provides "Move-In" funds to help prospective tenants secure housing. It is a stand-alone deposit assistance program, providing “move-in” funds to eligible households that are relocating within the City of North Miami and that are facing hardship. TBRA funds can be used exclusively for security deposits, up to a total of $4,800.00. Households with a housing voucher or subsidy may qualify for assistance, although certain restrictions may apply. While the TBRA program does not offer ongoing support for voucher households, it can provide funds specifically for deposits. For detailed eligibility please see guidelines and application.
Funding for the program is provided by HUD through the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) as a grant with no repayment requirement. Applications are available year-round until funds are depleted.
