No. North Miami Biological Waste (Dead Animals and Birds) does not capture or accept dogs. We work closely with Miami-Dade County Animal Services, which currently does not accept dogs due to overpopulation, unless the animal is aggressive or in distress.

Aggressive dogs are investigated by our officers and referred to the Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department.

North Miami supports the Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) program along with Cat Solutions 305, which humanely manages cat colonies. If you see a feral cat, report it so it can be included in the Cat Solutions 305 TNVR program.

You can report suspected animal cruelty, neglect, or unsafe conditions to North Miami Biological Waste (Dead Animals and Birds) at 305-895-9832. Officers will investigate and take enforcement action as needed.

Yes. City ordinances limit the number of dogs and other domestic animals per household. Four (4) dogs (six months and older) are allowed for each residence. Except for feral cats, the keeping, harboring and maintaining of fowl, poultry, wild animals, farm animals, and more than four (4) pigeons or four (4) rabbits shall be strictly prohibited.

No. The keeping of fowl or poultry (including hens and roosters) is strictly prohibited.

Yes. All pets must have up-to-date vaccinations, including rabies, to ensure the safety of both the animal and the community.

No. Nuisance wildlife concerns are referred to licensed trappers or Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission resources.
