Kevin Seifried was born in Newark, New Jersey in 1951. His family moved to Metropolitan Dade County in 1952. Mr. Seifried attended St. James Catholic Elementary School in North Miami, graduating in 1965. He went on to Monsignor Edward Pace Catholic High School in Opa-locka, graduating in 1969, followed by two years at Miami-Dade Community College, receiving an associate of arts degree in education. 

Mr. Seifried began his government service with the Dade County School Board in 1975, and in 1976 he began working for the State Attorney's Office, Juvenile Division. A year later, Mr. Seifried was hired by the Clerk of Courts where he served 15 months in the Civil Division, and then transferred to the Juvenile and Family Court Division. In 1980, Mr. Seifried returned to Civil Court. In 2020, after 44 years, Mr. Seifried retired from the Clerk of Courts. In the spring of 2021 Mr. Seifried established NOMI'S ANGELS, tasked with benefitting the Domestic Violence Unit of the North Miami Police Department and the City of North Miami Angel Tree. 

Mr. Seifried has been involved in various aspects of community service, commencing with the Knights of Columbus in 1972. Under the Knights of Columbus, he has coordinated and produced the official Memorial Day Tribute Program at the Historic Dade County Courthouse since 1997. This May 2023, will be the 25th Silver Anniversary of this program. In 1989, Mr. Seifried was appointed by Councilperson Shelley Gassner to the North Miami Planning Commission and was elected Chairperson by his peer commissioners in 1999, serving on the Planning Commission for a total of 30 years. Mr. Seifried has served as president of the Westside Homeowners Association, a member of the North Miami Community Emergency Response Team, a member of the North Miami Advisory Board on the Disabled, and as a member of the North Miami Police Department's Block Grant Advisory Board. Mr. Seifried is currently serving on the Boards of Directors of John Paul Charitable Foundation and Marian Charitable Foundation, both 501 (c)(3) and on the Board of the Gay Vista Social Club, a 501 (c)(8).
