Zoning Section is responsible for providing technical and professional recommendations to the public in order to ensure compliance with the Land Development Regulations and the Comprehensive Plan. The City North Miami Code of Ordinance is available on Municode.com. You can access the Zoning and Land Development Regulations in Chapter 29 of the Code. The section also overseas existing development and redevelopment within its City limits. The section processes a variety of applications, working closely with the Board of Adjustment to ensure all development reflects the City’s Land Development Regulations. Zoning Section provides the following services:

  • Administers zoning regulations and processes in accordance with the Land Development Regulations
  • Provides Certificate of Use to new and existing business, this ensures compliance with zoning code regulations
  • Site plan review
  • Design review
  • Landscaping
  • Review building permits for compliance with the zoning code
  • Administrative Variances
  • Zoning verification Letters
  • Zoning Inspections
  • Special event permits
  • Paint permits
  • Film permits
  • Assistant Living Facilities application and verifications letters

 

Development Review Committee (DRC)

The City’s Development Review Committee (DRC) process provide procedures for plan review by Planning and Zoning Sections, Public Works and Engineering, Flood Plain Protection, Building, Parks and Recreation, and Police Departments. Applications are available at CP&D Applications and Fee Schedule.
