Throughout the year the City of North Miami sponsors holiday parties for children who reside in North Miami. For more detailed information on the children’s events listed below, please call the Recreation office at 305.895.9840.

Patriotism is very important and the City of North Miami takes the memory of this country’s heroes very seriously. Each Memorial and Veterans Day there is a ceremony to honor our fallen heroes’ memories and to teach the youth of today the important of freedom, patriotism and America.

• Memorial & Veterans Day Ceremonies
  Each ceremony is held on the legally observed date and held at the Griffing Park at 12220 Griffing Blvd. These events are free to the public and a great lesson in history for today’s youth. A formal program and presentation of colors is done, shots are fired by the North Miami Police Honor Guard and a beautiful patriotic medley is sung. The ceremony begins promptly at 10:00 AM.
