Get in Gear Community Monthly Bike Ride

Rides take place on the second Saturday of the month

Registration: 8:00 a.m.
Departure: 8:30 a.m.
Start/End: MOCA Plaza
Length of the Ride: Round Trip approximately 10 miles

Commit yourself to a healthier lifestyle by participating in this 10 mile ride through North Miami! The ride is safe (where else do you get a police escort?), it’s easy (stops are made during the ride for water and restroom breaks) and it’s fun (bring your friends!).

Our mission is to encourage a healthier lifestyle through exercise and more nutritional diets.

Bring your own bike. Helmets are required for all participants ages 16 and under and encouraged for all participants.

The City of North Miami is honored to invite you to join us a Patrocinador (sponsor) as we commemorate the sights, sounds, history and flavors of Latin culture during our 2019 Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations. The month long celebration kicks off on September 18 at the North Miami Public Library and ends with our signature event, La Gran Fiesta, Una Noche Tropical, on October 19. This festive evening under the stars will feature an array of musical entertainment,Latin dancing, and for the third year in a row, Enrique Santos will serve as our emcee.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the NoMi Public Library invites you to a book signing with NJ Perez, author of Heart of a Cuban: Refugee to American Hero. This book exposes the account of Cubans who refused to be pushed like pawns by evil government leaders and one boy’s refusal to give up on the dream his great-grandparents had for a free Cuba.
Books will be available for purchase.

Puppet Show
Un Cangrejo Volador / A Flying Crab!

Performed by Antonio Orlando Rodriguez, Un Cangrejo Volador/A Flying Crab! is an theatrical adaptation of the original story of Cuban author Onelio Jorge Cardoso.

The puppet show organized by Fundación Cuatrogatos as part of their annual Fiesta de la Lectura, will be presented in Spanish.

Local area schools are invited to bring students on field trips in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The North Miami Memory Project - A Historical Exhibit and Program Series

The Greater North Miami Historical Society, Florida International University Libraries, and the North Miami Public Library invite you to enjoy this interactive exhibit of framed photographs from the 1940s -1 960s and oral histories of North Miamians from the StoryCorps project.

Learn what it was to live in the City of North Miami from the very early days to the 1980s.
